To London and Beyond

The first leg of our journey is over, and we are currently enjoying the free internet in the London airport as we wait to depart for Hyderabad. Yesterday was a long and wonderful adventure full of a lot of hurry up and wait moments that proved what we all already knew- we have an awesome and patient team! We arrived around 1 pm in London. By the time we were all through customs and ready to go the day was getting short on light. We bussed to the hotel and chucked our stuff in our rooms and headed out to London town. Highlights included: our meal at an Italian pizzeria (in Taryne's opinion the best pizza ever, she's still talking about it today), seeing the sights lit up at night and specifically Big Ben and the Parliament were beautiful.
Getting short on time. Loading our plane now.
We're headed to India!!!!!
Pray that our bags and guitars make it and
that arriving at 4:30am will be helpful in getting over jet lag.

And we're off...almost!

Amongst our team there has been a mounting sense of anticipation, though even from the very beginning, our trip has had what is considered to be, a short preparation time. We began our meetings saying "Only four months until India," so it is hard to believe that we can now say "Only 2 more sleeps until India!"
Perhaps you are reading this and thinking, "It is all well and good to say that you're short on time but I have no idea what that would even involve, why would you need more than four months to prepare?!" Good question. I wouldn't have known either. So a short list of things we have been working on in no particular order, and perhaps leaving some things out: planning activities to do with the kids in the schools we will visit, dusting off our reading and writing skills to prepare an essay for our team leaders to read, making space in our hearts and heads for the work that Jesus is going to do in us and through us, becoming a team- understanding a bit about each other before we hangout non-stop for two weeks, and getting a whole schwack-load of needles and medications in order to (hopefully) not get sick while there. Now you're probably thinking "Oh man! Four months really is a short time!" Umm. Yes. It really is.
We are all so excited to be getting on a plane shortly. Most of us are still thinking about all the things we need to pack yet, and closing up the house, and making sure the cat gets fed, and all those little details that seem to jump out right at the end. Please pray for us as we're running out on last minute errands and saying goodbye to friends and family that peace and clarity will encompass us. And that we don't forget our toothbrushes.
Thank you for your prayers and support.-E on behalf of the team.
